Sonification is when you open a non-sound file in a sound editor, like
Audacity, which I use. Then, you press the play button, take out the nice sounding/interesting parts, open another non-sound file, take out the interesting parts... Eventually, when you've chosen the ones you want and arranged them so they sound good, you have some sonified music! (If you want a better tutorial, try this one:
StAllio's Way). I prefer EXE files, because they can have some interesting sounds, but you can use almost any file you have on your computer. Sonification is a form of databending.
